    we ran out of feed so we fed them rice for a week they stopped laying
    now we have them on pellets and they dont like it
    when should they lay again and what should i do about the feed

    *They'll get over it. Chickens, like the rest of us, like consistancy. It's just the recent changes in the type of food that they are objecting to. If you want to "make it up to them" a little bit, mix A LITTLE scratch into the new pellets for a couple days or make a bit of the pellets into a warm mash treat for them . They'll adjust. Just keep an eye out for any really stubborn, resentful cases, who may lose weigh and need an intervention.

    we had to make mushy mash out of pellets at first for our girls...i added a spot of plain yogert in top cause they like that as a treat.
    they didn't resist too long before they downed it all.

    It's like feeding a toddler, isn't it? I remember hiding vegetables under melted cheese to get my daughter to eat them. [​IMG]
