Pheasant eggs question

About half of my chicks died on the last day they were supposed to hatch, in the egg. I opened them and they were fully developed, egg sac soaked up and yet, dead. Why does this happen??

What was your humidity?Did you have fresh air flow?Did they pip?Did you give them a few days longer then your hatch date?It could even be bad breeding.
