I have my eggs in egg cartons can I remove them on my last day of turning for them to hatch? Looks like there not alot of space with the cartons in the bator.

Yes, remove them from the cartons (remove the cartons as well) an lay them on their sides on the wire at thr bottom of the bator.

OK, curiousity got the best of me here!! If you have had the eggs in the cartons through incubation, how did you turn them during the process? If you just spun them in place in the carton, you may have a problem. I'm just trying to get a visual here!!......Jason

Quote:Can't speak for BigAnt of course, but before buying our Octagon 20 we would incubate in cartons in our home-built. We started with the eggs tilted 45deg, then at each turn would just tilt them 90deg over to the opposite side. Worked really well.

I see you mention Valley Quail in your .sig. If you haven't acquired them yet shoot me a PM as our 4-H group may have some available soon if you are interested. I only live about 20 minutes from Livermore.
