I’m thinking of ordering some Blue lace red Wyandotte females and wonder what the offspring would look like if crossed with lavender Orpington rooster

I asked something like this before ( but a lavender roo over a jubilee orp. ) and was told to treat lavender as black. so, the offspring will all be lavender ( maybe with some leakage ) the first generation. crossing the offspring of the initial lavender x blr is where the real interesting colors should pop up.
Will the F1 have the Wyandotte lacing but just be blue/black with leakage?I asked something like this before ( but a lavender roo over a jubilee orp. ) and was told to treat lavender as black. so, the offspring will all be lavender ( maybe with some leakage ) the first generation. crossing the offspring of the initial lavender x blr is where the real interesting colors should pop up.
No, I think they’ll just look lavender when it’s the F1 generation. I’m not sure if lacing works the same as barred, but I know a black roo over a barred hen will produce barred males and black females. Will the F1 have the Wyandotte lacing but just be blue/black with leakage?

None of the offspring of a first generation lavender cross (if crossed to a non-lavender bird) will be lavender. No, I think they’ll just look lavender when it’s the F1 generation. Like I said, when you breed the F1 generation is where you get the most variation in patterns & colors.
You’ll get 50% blue chicks and 50% black chicks. They’ll either be solid blue/black, blue/black with red leakage, or blue/black with partial red lacing. If you breed the offspring together or breed one back to the lav orps, you’ll get some lavender chicks.I’m thinking of ordering some Blue lace red Wyandotte females and wonder what the offspring would look like if crossed with lavender Orpington rooster
