Photos of our First Incubated Duckling!

Hello Folks!

I am going to attempt to post a couple of pictures of our little duckling. It seems healthy and strong. It is eating, drinking and is only quiet when it is sitting in my lap with its head buried in my hand.

The feather duster idea is an inspired one! Papa ran out this morning and got one, I hope it will help the poor baby not to be too lonely.

We've tentatively named it Esperanza, (Hope), if it turns out to be a boy we'll rethink it!

You know, I'm not sure what mama is... but we have 3 females on our pond that look EXACTLY like her! The males however (7 of them) have a green head and white and colored stripes on their wings. I'm not sure what they are, I meant to ask my neighbor who's they were or if they just 'moved in'. They used to hang out with my Pekin ducks... but now they are gone

He/She is ADORBALE!!!! I can't wait for our baby ducks.... spring I hope!

I know pretty much nothing about ducks but I do know that you have one really, really cute one!

they look like rouens. they are very much look like giant mallards, lay green tinted eggs

Momma looks rouen to me, except does she have a puff of feathers on her head? Hard to tell by the photo. My rouens don't lay green tinted eggs though.

it does look like a rouen but they dont have a crest so i believe she is mixed
