Here's our mixed flock of sweethearts. We got them from local farms, and we love them dearly.

Prudence Cluckworth, the ultra-friendliest Golden Comet (red sex-link) hen in the chickiverse, barges right up to visitors demanding to be petted, offered snacks, and chatted with! Her super-friendly rallying cry is: "WHATCHA DOIN'??" She's always right between your feet, pacing to be noticed! Every other photo of her shows nothing but a nostril.

Buxom, bosom-y, and bustle-butted, the curvaceous 'n bodacious Agatha Cluckworth, a playful Barred Plymouth Rock pullet, petitions St. Francis for snacks. She clambers over logs, stumps, etc. & streaks across the yard, rushing right into another chicken's face: "Booga-booga!" She instigates the silly, milling-about chicken games that look like musical chairs, without the chairs. ;)

Here's a clearer picture of Agatha, who proves that big girls just wanna have fun!

Gertrude Cluckworth has the silkiest feel to her plumage! We're unsure what she is, perhaps a Barnevelder pullet? She's mellow, and irridescent in the sunshine.

King Alfred, aka Alfie, is a gentle, good-natured, quiet senior-citizen who cares responsibly for his girls. He goes into the coop and lays next to Prudence until she is done laying her egg each day. He calls the girls to snacks, alerts for hawks, and loves corn more than anything else in the world. He seems to be a black-breasted red Old English Game bantam crossed with a standard-sized, rounder bird. He rarely crows, and it isn't very loud. (Behind him is Gertrude, his devoted groupie Mabel the sweet Easter Egger pullet, and Prudence)

One last photo, showing Alfie, Mabel the Easter Egger behind him, and Gertrude (Barnevelder?)'s backside up in the air.

    Thanks for looking!

Oh, they're so pretty! I do agree, Gertrude looks like a Barnevelder.
