I'm just starting my first flock and have decided on the breeds I would like to try. I was planning on getting 12 but it looks like I'm going to end up with 14 chickens total.

Right now I'm planning on getting:
2 Australorps
3 GL Wyandottes
3 Easter Eggers
2 Speckled Sussex
4 Black Silkie Bantams.

Do these sound like breeds that will exist in harmony?

A whole lot of people have Silkies in with their flocks without any issues whatsoever. Occasionally people report that the unusual decorative chickens, like Silkies or those with the funny things on their heads get picked on a lot.

Odds are you would not have any problems with Silkies in the mix, but that is the only flag I see. The rest should get along great.

That was the breed I was worried about. Thanks so much!
