Lacy has one chick... hopefully a rooster... here they are today dustbathing. Chick is just 5 days old. First day out of the pen.

    Yikes! Mom, you scared me....

    No room for me....

    Fine, I will pose

Good Heavens! She keeps taking pictures!

I can make a hole too!

    Pretty messy, this dustbathing!

    Ahh, life is good!

So precious. I have 1 chick that is 2 wks today. I also have 4 chicks that are 4 days old. It is so much fun to watch them out and about with mama hens. I am blown away how they are taught by the mama hens. Today, they played tag with a huge grasshopper. So funny seeing all of them running after the one with the treasure.

Thanks, Carrie, everyone. Texas CM... I agree. I was sitting out there with these two while the hens were in the garden polishing off the last watermelon with the cat watching.

    Life doesn't get much better!

Aw, thanks. The little chick is from Speckled Hen's (Cynthia) Dutch and Holly. "HE" (I hope) is a barred rock. My Lacy is a Golden Laced Cochin.
