I asked awhile back for anyone that has one to post pics of the modifications they made to them for candling, and no one had any pics. Thought I'd try again. Thanks!

I just turn mine so the beam points upward, then use a washcloth with a dime size hole cut in it to place the egg on. They tend to run hot since most use a 300 watt bulb, but you dont need to sit the egg on long to see with those. I know I posted pics of both of mine on here recently.

Now that sounds easy enough! So, I guess I could rubber-band the washcloth onto the rim of the projector beam thing?

Yep. even once made a donut by twisting a washcloth and fashioning a donut to sit the egg on.

Here they are, the ancient one and the square one. The square one's lens extends outward and I just sit it on its back end.

GREAT! Thanks, Cyn! You're a gem to dig them up for me! [IMG]

No problem. The really old metal one has no bulb, but I think I can get another if I need to (burnt out after using it to candle a few hatches) My DH was an art student so he had several already. Lots of people have them in their attics or bsmts, I bet.

I'm not sure if the one I have will work or not; but if not, someone at work suggested I call around to some Goodwill-type places. I though that was a good idea, too.
