Ok, my chicken obsession has moved from all chickens to blue chickens. Don't get me wrong, I love them all, but I REALLY LOVE BLUES!!!! Everytime I see a chicken with beautiful blue feathers all of my good sense leaves me. My poor husband is having to expand our coop b/c instead of just getting 30 more chicks in April, I am slowly but surely filling up on anything Blue! I know it's ridiculous but could I see your blues???? Right now I'm focuesd on Blue silkies but there are so many different kinds out there, I can't wait to collect them all!!!!!

I get it. I love the blues, too. Here are my Ameraucanas and Orpingtons-sorry, these have been posted elsewhere before, no new pics:

Ooohhh, Cynthia's birds are too pretty!! I'm beginning to love the blues, too. It's a lot of fun, and I can actually understand the genetics behind breeding the colors (blue, black, splash)!! [IMG]

I like that lighter blue with the bit of lacing on Cynthia's hens. The only blues I have are a few 9-week old Ameraucana chicks. I have a couple of lighter blues, but they aren't looking like they have that lacing. I also have a couple of really dark blues, here's one:

Gorgeous!! I read an interesting discussion on the Ameraucana Breeders web page about breeding those Andalusian blue genetics into the Ameraucanas, to improve lacing...

All this talk about blues is giving me all kinds of ideas, making me want to try and breed some nice Ameraucanas and try to improve that lacing!!

Uh oh, the chicken addiction strikes again...I really don't have the space or time for all of these grandiose plans floating around in my head!! [IMG]

Yes, I'm Suede's mommy, LOL. That's him above in the pics I posted. He's very special to me, a very sweet boy.
