    Great photos!

They are so innocent and vulnerable at that age.

(((♥))) Hugs to the babies. [IMG]

Ok, here's an update! Tomorrow our little chickies will be 3 weeks old. They have outgrown the brooder I had (an old port-a-crib) and were stinking up the house! So, yesterday was the first time in their new coop. We finally finished it yesterday and it was made out of 90% recycled materials we either had laying around or given to us by family and friends. of course they are no way ready for the laying boxes and we will need to build 2 more (our run holds 10 hens, we have 12!) and we were thinking of adding an old dog house and mounting it up higher for the rooster so he has his own place. I keep a thermometer out there so i know the temp in the coop. The coop was made in a side part of a garage/barn that was rarely used or used as a catch all for storage. We put strong spings on the door and doubled the chicken wire for security. We even wen tto the lengths of testing it since we have ccons and stray cats that love to get in our trash. We put food and a trash can in the coop with the door unclocked (you can see a pic of the lock below) and nothing ever got in . . .so far! Last night we kept the baby monitor out there and we listened in to make sure nothing was getting into the coop. I felt like a momma with her newborn in a crib in another room. I was up til 1 am checking on them til i crashed from exhaustion.

Anyway, please see attached pictures of the chickies and their new home!

i kept the brood light in the corner for added comfort and since their still so little, they may get too cool at night
