pictures of "pipping"??? anyone?

    I may be wrong, but I think when 'pipping' is refered to it means that you can hear the peeps coming from the egg. Mine are dong that right now. One egg has a very small crack so my first chick shouldn't be to long from now:>) I can hear them peeping

    I was told a pip is the cracking of the egg initially- I assumed a peep was the sound. I'm new at this so I have no clue!

    Pipping is when the chick initially pecks and cracks the shell of the egg. The sound they make is referred to as Peeping.

    Pipping is the first initial crack/hole that the chick makes.

    Hey thanks for the info everyone...I am in the middle of a hatch right now too, and I guess I was a little confused, the pics were very helpful!
