Piece of food in chicken eye

    Does Anybody know what I should do? I am plumb out of ideas

    I would irrigate it well with water or saline -- not wash in the sense of wipe it, but rather, squirt it. Don't be afraid to irrigate liberally, for several minutes. A gentle stream from a squeeze bottle would be good, or just pour it. I would then apply an ophthalmic antibiotic ointment, or you can use plain brand name Neosporin ointment in the eye. I might try a Q tip or even tweeers if I albsolutely had to -- but the ointment should cause the object to work its way out if the irrigation doesn't.

    thank you because i would usually just take a Q-Tip and take out the piece of food. It would make the chicks eyes watery. I am totally new and hope the food doesn't get stuck in their eye again[​IMG]
