Anyone ever AI their pigs? I have rare breeds of pigs and I have a chance to get frozen semen from the UK. This would really help my breed out to get some new bloodlines in it.

Researched it some with goats, but never tried it. Don't think I want pics.

From what I have read and from what people have told me it is a lot easier to AI pigs than goats. I have bred a lot of goats artificially, but no pigs. They were using fresh chilled semen rather than frozen semen. Don't know if that makes a difference.

They are Gloucestershire old spots. I know I have a few threads of pics. The girls are one 14 month old and two 4 month olds. I also have a boar. He is 6 months old. He will be used later since this isn't a common occurance to get this semen.

    Huh.

I don't like pigs. I mean, I borderline hate the things. Mean AND smart.

But that one looks kind of interesting....for a pig.
