I have a 4 mt by 2 mt chicken tractor that I would like to convert into a pigeon loft for squabbing. I understand the basic requirements of a loft but I have not read any information about whether an area for flying is needed.
I thought perhaps I could create an enclosed area and attach it to the loft to give the pigeons an area to stretch their wings or at a minimum some extra space in the fresh air and sun.
The fact that I haven't read or seen anything on this subject leads me to believe that it isn't necessary but I'd like to get some feedback from others before I finalise my plans.
