Want to train my birds to do this... looks fun!!!
Jak, that is awesome. Thanks for posting.
As a kid my best friend and I had a pet crow that would follow us wherever we went on our bicycles.
I had a crow that used to come to my school at recess and find me out of about 300 kids. Keeping a crow is now considered illegal in our province now.
Why is it that stupid laws like this get made up? Crows make really good pets. The law should protect animals... so shooting them as pests and vermin is fine.. but rescuing and keeping on as a much loved pet is a crime???????
That is so cool! Do you have any idea how they train them to do that?
No... I guess it coudl be 2 ways.
1. He hand reared them so they think he is their parent and leader of the flock.
2. He trained to follow him for food rewards... like people train racing homers to come back to the coop on call.... or people that use a portable kit box... the birds are trained to go into the box for food on call.... and the owner can take the box and birds anywhere and do this.... ie, they don't home back to the coop... only to the box.
Wow, that is sooo cool!
I came across this link and thought where you and I had crows you might be interested
