Pine Needles

My 5 chicks have an enclosed run under 2 large pine trees- I notice the chicks have been eating pine needles, is this safe for them? The run base is sand, so they do have grit.

Mine girls love pine needles. They haven't kick the bucket yet, so I assume their safe. They seem to know what to eat and what not to, but its always good to check. I read that avocado's weren't good for them, but I saw a posting here that someone fed their checks avocado's.
