Pink bump on Male Button Quails beak

Does anybody know what this is? We have only just noticed it. Is it from hitting his head for something? Thanks

He doesnt seem to be in pain but i cant really catch him to tell. He still acts like normal. Maybe it could have been when we introduced the girls 2 weeks ago, they attacked him so i separated one then put them back in and they were fine. Maybe it has only just popped up now?

I have the same exact problem with my females! Worst part is, its spreading over a month or two D: Keep him away from your other quails. I have coturnix and now 3 of mine have it! I dont know the case with yours, but how is he?

If you google "pink lump above beak" it looks similar to abscesses on chickens, it looks infected to me :O
