We have pipping and hatching going on here today!

One of my RIR eggs in my homade bator have hatched, another has pipped, and we have a pip and peeping going on under my broody hen.

The chick that has hatched is from my dark RIR hen Scarlett.

scarlet is beautiful that is the one you got from cyn correct? If I ever get RIR's there is a good chance they will be from bama's and other breeders stock.
