I was just thinking about in Egypt when Plagues of Locusts came, how fun that would be for the chickens. I know that recently the grasshoppers have gotten really bad in our area, they killed our lemon tree. My friend said that he doesn't worry about locusts, because he has a Free-range flock. I haven't noticed them too bad anymore. My chickens usually stay in the run area though. But ever so often a grasshopper will come leaping in the wrong direction, and he has just started a fatal game of Keep-away for the chickens.

Mine went crazy a couple of months ago when the termites were leaving the nests. It was pouring rain and my chickens were running all over the yard snatching termites out of the air. Good thing it was a summer rain storm because by the time they were full they looked like drowned cats.
