Hello. First post, but long time looker. Does anyone have the plans for a Salatin style dolly for moving the chicken tractor?

I think that he hooks it up to his tractor to it!

Quote:No that is the "egg moblile" that he moves with an actual tractor.

I can share pictures of mine but I dont have any plans we just looked at his book and tried to copy it as best as we could. We are going to have to shorten it a bit today and also reinforce the bottom of the pen. the dolly bends the 1X3 wood pretty easy so I need to make some adjustments. I have been using mine now for 9 days and the pen moves have not been as easy as Joel made it look but I keep working at trying to balance things out and it is getting easier.

This one was built by a Polyface apprentice for use in his own broiler program. Maybe it will give you some ideas...

Quote:Ditto. I just printed these pics off. I am going to take dimension them and take them to my neighbor, the welder. I bet he can have one of these made before my next batch goes out to pasture.

Big Thanks Buster. Boy I bet it would be interesting to pick the brain of a Salatin apprentice. I bet he has a wealth of info to share.
