Plants for Planting for the chickens

Hello,
I am making a huge chicken food forest and i was wondering if anyone had ideas/suggestions/other advice for making this thing. I am trying to make it the most like their real habitat, so they won't even notice the fence that is keeping them contained.
Any ideas/suggestions/other advice is greatly appreciated!

Unless you have a vast area to work with, your chickens are likely to destroy every bit of greenery available.

My suggestion would be to divide the area so that you can rotate them through multiple pens in order to let each one recover before it gets chomped on again.

I know I've been a poultry pasture seed mix available on Amazon.

The things huge. They have probably been on there for a couple months and I can still see grass they have not reached.

I'm planning to plant chia seeds when it warms up. Also flax, clover, rye.

Do you know if those germinate fast?

Just be aware that they will likely rip much of it up by the roots in the seedling stage. That said, are you looking for grass, or other things like veggies and herbs too?

Chia germinates quickly. The others you may want to fence off for a week or two at least if you want the plants to survive. Otherwise, sprouted seeds are healthy snacks.

Both. Some grasses, but mainly veggies and herbs and chicken plants.
