I am looking for some kind of plan that I can put in the run for a little shade and maybe a place for my low hen on the totem pole to have a little camouflage. Is there anything I can plant that would be safe for them and from them?

Quote:Fruit trees. See my BYC page for pics of my setup. I've planted Illinois Everbearing mulberry trees for shade and food when I originally built the coop a couple decade ago. I've since planted apples and persimmons to extend the free food dropping season. I also plant tomatoes and squash in cages to grow up into a trellis each year for the same reason.
