I had a huge algae problem in my fish tank, and I had to throw all my plants away and I am not able to go and buy more from the pet store at the moment. I was wondering if it would harm the fish if I got some plants from my yard, or is that not a good idea . . . ? I don't know if this is a stupid question or not . . . I was just wondering.

:)

Plants from your yard will not be suitable for an aquarium. If you tell us a bit more about your tank we may be able to suggest some plants that would be suitable for your particular setup and from there we can help you find sources to get them.

Ok. I have a ten gallon tank with eight fish. The tank has a heater, a filter and an air stone. There is gravel on the bottom and some big rocks and a little cave. I used to have plants, but, like I said, due to algae problems I had to throw them away. The fish are getting sunlight from two big windows and a little artificial light as well. My water doesn't have any conditioner in it, and it's well water. That's pretty much all I know. :)

Hope it helps! I'm just trying to figure out all this aquarium stuff. I've never had a big tank like this with tropical fish. I've only had a little tiny bowl with a betta. XD
