I see pointed saddle feathers. I am confident he's a cockerel

Really? I'm not seeing them.

The back feathers are shiny, but I put that down to the breed.

I assumed that was the platinum part.

I could believe it's a cockerel.

I agree. Correct me if I'm wrong, but he seems to have the shredder gene associated with lavenders that's causing this

I think a photo of the back would help.
I don't see any droopy, pointy saddle feathers, but the feathers on the back are suspicious. I'd be willing to go by them and say cockerel.

I am assuming the bird is not crowing, and is not laying eggs?
By 4 months old, many cockerels are crowing, but of course not the confusing ones

Do we know if this breed or strain of birds matures early vs. late? It looks to me like that comb could belong to an early-maturing hen who's about to start laying eggs, or a late-maturing cockerel.
