I'm close to the hatch date on my runner duck, runner / blue Swedish and Welsh Harlequin / khaki campell duck eggs. I'm wondering, other than water, can ducklings play with and or in. Some to entertain them when I not there and some to do with them. Any suggestions are appreciated :D

I have read that baby ducks should not be allowed to get in the water until fully feathered unless it is hatched and raised by a duck. When a duck is raised by it's mother it get oils in it's down by rubbing against it's mother. That's why she is able to take her babies into the water so early. Incubated ducks raised in a brooder do not develop oil for their feathers until they are older.
As far as other playthings, a mirror is always good for most birds. And a feather duster hung in their brooder is always fun for them to get under and play around.

Actually it is safe if you don't let them get waterlogged . You should look on the duck thread more  just kidding :p
