..........Can quails lay eggs without a male like chickens.....?
according to my husband...yes they can
Quote:Yes, just like chickens and ducks can, but you can't get chicks from those eggs.
I have never heard of any bird that NEEDS a male to lay an egg. I am sure someone that has quail will answer.
Now please don t think i am stupid - is there really a place called Lake Placid?
I have quail.
Quote:Haha, Yes there is, and just like the movie its located in the seventh layer of hell but thats just my opinion
There is a Lake Placid in NY also
Quote:VERY TRUE, BUT HER LAKE PLACID IS A LOT HOTTER THAN THE 1 IN NEW YORK!
DO YOU NEED A COTURNIX ROO?
Okay, this is probably gonna gross out some people, but......
I always joking refer to a chicken's (or any bird's) egg as nothing more than it's period wrapped up in a shell....
To my knowledge, there is no bird that will not lay without a male...but i also don't know of any that autoinsemminate (not sure that's a word) either. So, you can have all the eggs you want without a male but they will never make babies.
Quote:OMG!! That is EXACTLY what I thought with the period in a shell thing!! My friends and I were arguing about it in the movie theater and people were giving us some pretty funny looks.
