Recently we have had a couple hens attacked by something. Both had all the neck feathers and whatever little else is there, ripped off. Whatever it is does not go any further. The last attacker today came right up to the barn and did the deed... our two jersey cows were there all day also. We are thinking hawk or eagle as no predator that we have had so far has just stripped the neck and left everything else. The head is still attached and everything. Please give us your thoughts.
    Thanks all!

Night time owl. Daytime hawk unless overcast, then possibly owl.

    Definitely a hawk.

Certainly a bird of prey. Sorry for your loss.

I must agree, a raptor of some sort.
