My chicks are about 2 weeks old. They are getting big and super healthy. Today I gave them a treat which got them super excited. You know how chickens do, run around like a spaz with a piece of food in their mouth, playing keep away. Anyway, I believe a chick fell and then got trampled on OR mother hen jumped down from the perch, directly on top of one. She just lays there. One leg seems fine but the other is totally out of commission. I've got her inside. She is sleepin face down with both legs spread directly behind her and her head buried under the blanket. The leg and foot dont look broken or mangled. Or maybe it just isn't noticable. Being Friday, my vet is closed until Monday and the ER vet doesn't see birds of any sort. I fear she is suffering. Can chickens "sprain" their legs? Is there anything I can do?? It is breaking my heart to see her this way! Thanks!!
