I completely feel everyone's pain on this right now. I hatched 2 chicks from the bator, and 7 other chicks were delivered the next day from my pet chicken. All of them are healthy, eating, drinking, temp is perfect, but this one little devil....it just WILL NOT STOP with this high pitched scream peeping. It's Awful! This is my 5th time with chicks, and this is the first I have heard to endure this. If it keeps it up, it's going to be culled because it's giving me a migraine and making all my other pets/family miserable as well. I have tried all the advice given in this thread, and it will hush for five mins...then go right back to it! Lord Help Me!

Thanks Jody! Unfortunately she is the only one of the chicks that DOESN'T like to be held! Go figure! Maybe I will try it anyway.... anything to get her to shut up!

But since she's a hatchery chick, why would she miss mommy? is this a normal thing and we just lucked out with our last batch?

Thanks!
Just bc they are from a hatchery doesn’t mean they are not going to have baby tendencies. This goes for animal living breathing animal. Animals have feelings too you know, they get scared, they get hungry, they get thirsty, they get sick, they get lonely, and babies can crave a extra attention for all of the above. Your post sounds heartless. “Anything to get them to shut up.” Don’t get baby anything if you can’t deal with the fact that a baby, no matter what it was born into, will be a baby and have baby tendencies.
