    5-6YR EE Rooster

Eyes and Nose: Clear, no discharge

    Comb/Wattles: Pale and increasingly bloodless

Appetite: NONE- Force-feed diet of anti-biotic water, Ensure, applesauce, oil

Poop: Was normal before appetite vanished. Now, water, bile, and urine

Wormed: not in the short space I've owned him

Plumage and Attitude: Was bright, healthy, and perky just three days ago

Breath: Rank like a dead animal before anti-biotic was administered

Crop- empty from lack of food and water for over 24 hours, NO ballooning, burping, or unusual squishyness

    Breathing: Normal

Energy: Extremely low. Rooster prefers to sit and lay down constantly, closes eyes and tries to sleep. When aroused for force feeding he will stand and his eyes are bright, occasionally vocalizes- will warble a little as he changes sleeping positions in laundry basket (wonder if he has cramps or pain?) But it is hard to get him up and moving.

Anti-biotic: Liquid soluable Durmyacin for swine, cattle, and poultry.

I do not want to loose my pretty boy. It will cost me $50 just to see a bird specialist here in town. This doesn't seem as much like sour crop now as it did at first- even tho his breath was rank it has since disappeared or toned down since the antibiotic was administered. PLEASE help. I don't want him to fall beyond help.

He had mites or lice around his vent (I had treated his ear muffs and head a couple months ago) and I wondered if worms could also be a problem. The poo of all my birds is very healthy. Is it possible he is so weak from parasites that are not showing in the poo?
