In the Brooder
Thank you MySweetChickens and nposluszny for all your support. Sadly neither of the ducklings made it. The duckling who pipped on the underside of the egg didn't make it through the night. Zippy held on for 43 hours after his first pip. We helped as much as we could and removed about half the shell but he wasn't absorbing the blood from the membrane so there wasn't much more we could do. We managed to feed him some water with a little bit of sugar mixed in which he loved! But sadly he just wasn't strong enough to make it. We were heartbroken, we just hope he knows how much he loved in the short time he was with us.
Thank you again for your support.
However life has to move on, so on a happier note we're picking up two white campbell ducklings tomorrow they'll be 5 days old tomorrow and we're really looking forward to giving them a home!
