I'm sorry he died, it's a bad case and I hope you can prevent any others from getting so bad. Has anyone contacted you about anything that can be done for the rest? I wish I knew what to tell you. I know you know to isolate your coop so it doesn't spread to other sites, but that's not what you're looking for I know. I know it had to be awful to feel so helpless, anyone with animals of any kind can understand and sympathize with you. [IMG] [IMG]

I am so sorry for your loss. [IMG] I have no experience with what that was , so I cannot offer any help to you. I wish someone else would have at least given an opinion as to what it might have been & what you should do for your other young chicks.

Quote:my chichens have just started gettin this, im so worried. it is fowl pox or avian pox.or it looks like what the vet told me it was. there is no cure, it can be vaccinated when they are young 0-10wk i was told. the vet said it was a virus and would run its course and that chickens that get through will be immune to it. the death rate for this is very small. the vet gave me medicine antibotic for what i do not know i guess for after infection??? I was told to treat the eye like your own wipe wet warm papertowel to help with puss, put vasiline with (oh i cant remember) i'll find out. some have said put monkey blood on combs and wattle. i ahve heard people helping the animal eat and drink. hope things get better. i'm with you in your trouble
