Ameraucana is shaking her head (Main concern, is this a disease?). I am treating her lice with DE, also coop and yard. The lice are concentrated in the duct area.

Quote:Most likely the lice are irritating her causing her to shake her head. Forget the DE, use something that will kill the lice dead....use sevin dust, $4.97 at Lowe's for a 1 pound canister. Once you dust your hen, dust the inside of her house and nests. Ten days later redust her again and the inside of her house as well to kill nits hatched from eggs since the initial dusting.

Be sure to dust all your chickens at the same time to avoid constant reinfestation. You cannot see the lice & may be unaware others are also infested.
