A few weeks back a Rooster appeared at a ranch I work at. He didn't want to get close to anyone. As the days went on we would see small piles of feathers and it was clear that he was getting attacked by something. My children finally caught him in an equipment barn and we brought him home. From all my searching on the internet I am still not positive what he is. My best guess is a Maran, but his color throws me. He has white/blue feet and feathered legs. Our Brahma has yellow legs, so I know he isn't that. He also has lost some toes, so my children promptly named him Edward Scissorhands (name of the ranch is the Edward's ranch.) Anyhow, any info would be appreciated. He is happy with our rag tag bunch of hens so far. Not a mean bird either, just shy.

He looks like a mixed breed, obviously one half of the equation is feather-legged.

That is kind of what I was thinking, but wasn't sure. Was really hoping for something interesting. LOL

Crosses are some of the best birds. I have a few myself that I wouldn't take $1000 each for, they have enriched our lives so much.

Handsome rooster! He's a lucky guy, that you caught him and brought him home.
