Hello everyone. My hen solar is not feeling well. She just came back from the fair and the next day we noticed she was hiding and laying down. When trying to grab her its almost like she ran away but slipped then we grabbed her. My first thought was egg bound. We brought her inside gave her a Epsom salt bath and fed her some tums with her food. I checked for a egg but found nothing. Obviously I wasn't going to ignore this so we kept her inside with in a dark warm room all night. This morning nothing, not even poop. She is taking another Epsom salt bath and I'm feeding her some tums, food, and little bit of vegetable oil. She keep laying down but thats it. She seems fine almost but not getting up. Is this constipation or egg bound? These are pictures of her in the bath. Her vent is protruding a little but nothing extreme and her abdomen area is red and all hard.

I would keep her separated, since she has not pooped all night and day. Has she eaten much today, since her crop is full? I also would check her crop early morning before she has eaten or drunk anything. Is her tail position up most of the time when she is walking around? I saw it up in one video and down in another. Most hens will lay an egg just as they are going broody. She doesn’t act broody to me so far. I would get her out and walking just to see if she poops. Also offer water and a bit of food. Her lower belly looks enlarged in your picture. Does it seem that way compared to your other chickens? A swollen abdomen can be from water belly or internal laying. How old is she? I would stir the bedding and add more if needed, since there is a lot of poop in there.

Is she getting picked on?

She's already been around the others, so if she brought something home, they are exposed now...

She seems to be moving just fine with her tail up, no one was attacking her.

Just sayin'...but then again - your her keeper, if you think isolating her is what's needed, then isolate her!

For how long did she have to stay there away from home?

Some chickens suffer from disorientation/slight shock when suddenly being taken out of their usual surroundings, having to face all kinds of unknown creatures, sounds and people staring at them, rattling the cage or/and touching them.

She does not look sick at all and her walking is normal too. So no egg binding or similar.

To me she does look somewhat broody, and some broodies only defecate 3-4 times during the whole period and only after a lot of walking outside, as the digestive tract needs stimulation to work properly.
