No! That would cause serious pain for your poor bird. (Have you ever put that on a cut?) I would gently clean the blood off with plain water to see the extent of the injury and proceed from there. How did it get injured?
I have no clue. She was just found like this today.

I suspect that she could have been picked on. We have an aggressive rooster and about 40 hens, and she is the smallest.
Hmm. I wouldn't tolerate an aggressive rooster if he attacked my hens. Is that the only rooster you have?
We might have another, we have no clue. The aggressive roo is a Black Orpington and the suspected roo is a silkie/cochin mix. To the best of my knowledge, the aggressive roo has not harmed any of the hens. It could have been one of our older hens though.
Even if you only have two, you have plenty of hens. Is your silkie at the bottom of the pecking order? I know silkies are often at the bottom.
