Please help! Silkie rooster swollen neck and big growths on body

We noticed about a week or so ago that our silkie rooster has a growth or two on him. We decided to just keep an eye on it. In the last few days it’s seems like several more have popped up. They are very hard and pretty big. He got into a scuffle with one of our hens who was protecting her chicks, but it was nothing serious. Other than that, he’s had no injuries.
Tonight we were giving the group their treats and I noticed he was standing very still BUT still eating the watermelon in front of him. After watching him a while he started to look as if he was gasping for air and that is when I noticed his neck was VERY swollen. We looked as best as we could to see if there was anything blocking, but couldn’t see anything. He started showing a lot of mucus coming from his mouth and he’d shake his head super hard and the mucus and food would fly out. Everytime we let him walk around hed go to the food and try to eat. Someone in a support group on Facebook said to give him some children’s mucus medicine. We did that and his throat is a lot less swollen, but still swollen. He is very lethargic. I am guessing he is very hungry since it looks like he couldn’t get food down because of his swollen throat. Any ideas on what could be wrong? I’m sorry for the long post, just very worried.

Its alright, as long as your Silkie roo is still eating, breathing (alright), drinking and pooping normally, he should hang on for a while ❤

He isn’t

hes having a very hard time breathing, his poops are liquid and when he eats he spits it out

This sounds like a case of impacted crop and he might breathe much better if you hold him upright without squeezing the crop when doing so.

Feel his crop gently, is it squishy like a water balloon or hard?

Edit: How old is he and was he vaccinated against Marek's?

Got a syringe (one without needle)? Fill it with 3-5mL of water and gently squeeze some water into his throat.

Hand feed him some seeds or bread, etc. Make sure he swallows.

It doesn’t feel hard or squishy, just normal. One of our chickens had an impacted crop not too long ago and it doesn’t feel like that.
We got them from someone when they were babies who said they had all vaccinations needed, so I’m guessing yes.
