I thought there was something wrong with this chick so I helped it out of the egg. We'll it looks as if what was wrong with it was a yolk sac not absorbed. I had noticed he was sticky before I helped, and looked to be very wet. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

It was curled up because of the camera flash.

Oh poor chick :( I don't think there is much you can do. It would be difficult to keep that yolk sack wet while keeping the chick warm.....

The sac just came off and the chick bled a little but if stopped. So I think it is good know.

If the chick curled up because of the camera flash then imo the chick is healthy enough to run a marathon.

In other words chicks are not human babies and any gross attempt to help them hatch or in other words to preform a cesarean section on a baby chick will likely not result in an optimum or a happy ending.
The yoke sack is the chick's food storage devise and now an exhausted chick is facing its first few days of life as well as its final natal development with no food energy in reserve.

The yolk sac busted inside the egg that is why I had helped it. I just hope he makes it.

The yolk will only supply the chick with nutrition for three days so after that you will need to supply it with water and food ( I have always used medicated chick starter for my chicks, though it gave my meat bird diarrhea).

    Hope this information helps!!
