Please pray for my student and his family

One of my very first students out here lost his brother in a vehicle accident on Saturday. I heard about the accident but I didn't hear the name and didn't know I knew him until I got to school today. He was a wonderful young man who made some reckless decisions and they caught up with him. My student worshiped his brother and they were less than a year apart, and very close emotionally. The family will be having a very hard time with this emotionally and financially. Please keep them in your prayers.

On the Compassionate friends website there is an article that is for teachers about helping the bereaved student. My nine year old son is missing his 11 year old brother very much, I pray every day for compassion from his teachers and it has been only 4 1/2 months!

In the last 3 years, I've had students lose more family members than I have had in 10 years total. The violence across the Border in Juarez took one student's brother and uncle last year. It took a fellow teacher's son in law, it took another student's grandfather. They tell us we can't pray in school, I pray more in school than anywhere else. This young man was a student of mine 6 years ago and not a week goes by that he doesn't find me to say hi. Whether it's at the high school picking up my own son, or he'll come next door and show up on my portable step. He and his brother were so close,, it's going to be hard to overcome.
