These chicks were all hatched on April 26th, which would make them 5 weeks old today. Please help me figure out what I have as I don't plan to keep roos. Thank you!

Thank you! I thought my Barred Rock looked a little rooish too. Here is a picture at 1 week of age to see what you think.

    I agree with sonew123,

    Sweetheart
    Peppy
    polar all look like boys.
Some silkies show definite boyness in the crest & comb at 5 weeks.
Some can wait till 5 months.

On the other hand, you did get some girls,
1and BYC is a really good place to find
quality homes for the boys if you're persistent [IMG]

I have a question, how come you think that Polar is a roo, but not Bear? They are the same size in comparison. [IMG]

I don't really see any obvious roosters signs with any of them.

Quote:If I do decide to home the boys, this will be the first place that I turn to. It's going to be hard because the 3 that are turning out to be boys are my babies. Absolute sweeties and it's going to be difficult to give them up. I just might have to find them some girls and keep them. Although, the hubby might make me sleep in the coop with them! [IMG]
