Polish chicken losing head feather. Please help!

    My almost 8 month old polish hen[​IMG]

    keep losing her head feathers. Is this mites? Here are some pictures. (She lived with 3 other hens. 2 silkies and an Orpington) please help! Thank you!

    Sneak out at night and look at the area with a flash light. You should be able to see mites or lice then. Then research what you want to treat her and her coop with. I use sevin dust.

    Mites can be a problem with polish but I don't see the black mess that mites leave and although they are small they are quite visible.

    No, you cant get lice or mites from your birds. They may crawl on you but they aren't interested in you in the long run.

    Check your other birds for bugs.

    Polish do get picked on. Its possible your other birds are puling her feathers.
