i've had terrible luck finding polish gene info on something OTHER THAN what to expect from genes within the same breed. i have a polish chicken & while i am not a breeder, i DO let them raise their own young. my flock is very diverse, almost every bird is a diff. breed. So, it is a humbled question of curiosity at most....when breeding a Polish with a different breed, are ANY of the gene the traits to the Polish Dominant, or are they all recessive? what is the chance the x would display any Polish traits? are certain breeds you breed to a polish more likely to have their offspring exhibit Polish traits than others? Do the traits differ in male vs female? such as male polish to hen of other breed, or other breed roosters to polish hens?

I'm not sure if this answers your question, but the chicks should all have crests in the first generation.....

If the Polish are pure, the offspring should all have small crests (single copy of the gene), as @AMERAUCANAS4REAL says. They should also have a single gene for the duplex comb.

Other than that, there will be variations in body-type depending on the cross.

I crossed White Crested Polish rooster with Buff orpington hens. Chicks all had small crests, combs that looked a bit like buttercup combs
