I don't show my Polish but I think you have a really nice roo there. Nothing will happen to him if he gets wet, the problem is the crest getting wet in the winter(probably from a waterer that allows the crest to get wet) and then the crest/comb freezes causing damage to the bird.

Ok that makes sense about it getting wet.

    I think he is cute.

I was just wondering if his wattles where too big or his legs the correct color or does it matter, he is a lot better looking (to me) then what I seen at the show, I thought the ones at the show where really raggy looking but maybe they where going throw a molt and had the correct bones and stuff my bird don't.

Well I found the standared. but they are from the Australian Poultry Standards .

What I really love about him is whats incorrect I think, I LOVE his awsome perpendicularly carried tail! and his large white ear lobes are cool if thats what a ear lobe is? I know it's not the ear....

what is that white things called?

I did not like his Wattles, but they seem to be OK and I was worried about his leg color being black with white toe tips but that seems ok.

His tail could keep growing as it just came in and could hook over which would be fine.

I think I might try showing him........

    Type:
Back - fairly long, flat and tapering to the tail.

Breast - full and round. Flanks deep.

    Shoulders - wide.

Wings - large and closely carried.

Tail - full, neatly spread, and carried somewhat low, not perpendicularly, the sickles and coverts abundant and well curved.

    Head:
Large and decidedly pronounced protuberance on top, and crested.

Crest - large, full, circular on top and free of any split or parting, high and smooth in front and compact in the centre, falling evenly with long untwisted or reverse-faced feathers far down the nape of the neck, and composed of feathers similar to those of the hackles.

Beak - of medium length, and having nostrils rising above the curved line of the beak.

    Eyes - large and full.

Comb - of horn type and very small if any (preference should be given to birds without a comb).

Face - smooth, without muffling in the White-crested Black or Blue varieties, and completely covered by muffling in the others. White Polish are found in two forms, both bearded and non-bearded.

Muffling - large, full and compact, fitting around to the back of the eyes and almost hiding the face.

Ear-lobes - very small and round, quite invisible in the muffed varieties.

    Wattles - rather large and long in the White-crested and non-bearded varieties;

    the others are without wattles.

    Neck:
Long with abundant hackle coming well over the shoulders.

    Legs and Feet:

Legs - slender and fairly long, the shanks free of feathers.

    Toes - four, well spread.

He has a much better crest than my blue but I hope mine grows in some more. His tail feathers look a bit ragged though. Are you thinking of showing him? I wish there were more Polish people here.

Here is a link to the Polish Breeders Club, maybe that will help.

    Here is my blue.

I have him in with a splash hen and (just recently) two blue mixed Polish hens who are blue laced. I want to see what I get from these mixes and hoping for a Polish that lays better.
