Polish Rooster bad leg

Our polish rooster who is 5 months has hurt one of its legs. He can’t stand on it and has resorted to dragging it around when he hops on his other leg. I’ve not noticed any breakage and it’s like he just can’t move his toes forward to stand on. Tonight now he’s gotten some swelling on the leg. Beyond that he’s eating and drinking fine and the others don’t pick on him at all.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The swelling makes it look like he has either broken his foot or sprained it. Can you get it xrayed at the vet’s? Cockerels can jump and get injured since they are very active and at that age, starting to try and mate. You could place him in a wire dog crate with food and water to force him to rest the leg. You also could try splinting the foot and leg with padding, something stiff, and vet wrap strips. Don’t splint too tight where the circulation might be cut off.

What does the bottom/pad of the foot look like?
