Just wondering if there is a way to sex polish top hats other than wing feathers I'd like a way to double check

Well, you can't really use wing feather sexing unless the birds were bred for it, so that's out too unfortunately. They can be vent sexed, but that's best done by a professional and is really hard to learn to do successfully anyway. The only real way, besides vent sexing, is just to wait until they grow up. With polish however there is a bit of a trick - hen's crest feathers will be rounded. In males, they come in pointy.

Thank you, that helps a lot. I'll give them a little time to grow

X2 with Pyxis time really is the best answer. They can be a nightmare to sex. I've also read that some have some luck with the shape of the crest but this has to be when they first hatch. Rounded shaped crests are female and the more slender oblong crests are male. This is not gospel though and can't always be relied upon.

Ive had about 50% luck using this method.
