Poop on feet! :( What will help?

Hello there
I am a mother of 2 Emotional support House Silkies.
They are 1 month and the other is 1 month & 2 weeks old.
I have them on Newspaper right now and ofcourse as chickens do they poop and step in it a lot.
I love holding them but I have to shower right after everytime.
I was wondering if when I switch to bedding that will be solved?
Also what kind of bedding is best for clumping and keeping poo off of their feet?
Is there anyway I can feed them to produce harder poo?

News paper is not a good choice. It gets wet and soggy fast. Not to mention slippery.

Pine shavings are a good option, that's what I use.

What are you feeding them now?

Well, that's no fun. We certainly don't want poopy feet! Definitely make the switch to pine shavings. But, if you don't want poopy feet, you need to clean it out every day. Their water and food needs to be clean and fresh every day too. If you do this, you will not have to take a shower after you have one on your lap.

I agree with pine shavings. I have tried straw, hay, alfalfa, and other stuff. My hens are most comfortable with the shavings, and no dirty toes!

Since they are house chickens have you thought about chicken diapers?

Chickens don't 'house train', and do produce a lot of poo. Shavings are the best bedding; I'd use the fine shavings, not the coarse type.
As house pets, they will be dirty!
