What do you use in your poop trays?

Hi, I use a tarp over my wood floor below the roosts and just scoop up the poop. Easy and just cost the price of a cheap tarp initially. I take it out and give it a hose down every now and again if needed. Clean, no creepy mites hidden in straw below the roosts, and its cheap! Also easy to see what the chickens have pooped overnight on the tarp to check on health issues.

I keep mine on the ground and hoe the poop under and move the birds to a new location now and then.

I use fine pine shavings, I have also used the pellet bedding for horses. The pellet bedding did a great job on cutting down on smell and absorbing but was more expensive then the shavings.

i use sand on a solid floor and scoop it up then sift it with a sifter and put back the sand
