One of my ringneck pairs is setting for the second time since I got them a few months ago. Both times, mom only laid one egg. I checked the egg today to see if it was developing (the last was totally clear), and it had a teeny tiny dead embryo in it [IMG] I didn't have the heart to take it away from her, since she's been sitting long enough that she should stop soon.

Is there anything I can give them to increase the chances of the egg(s) hatching? I figure it's probably just due to the season, and am hopeful that they will get things straightened out this spring [IMG]

I feed them a wild bird seed mix that has BOSS, milo, wheat, and millet, plus this red grit from Jedds.com.

If she's young and a first time mom, that could be the reason.
    What is BOSS?

I'm not really sure how old she is, I got her and 5 others from a rescue in Dekalb IL.
