I've been noticing my Nig. Dwarf Buck start to walk a bit funny in the past few months... his hind legs are the ones giving him problems.. now he mostly lays down all of the time.. he'll get up to when I get out the hay.. but then lays down to eat.. even when he's out in the pasture, he'll lay down and rest every 10 minutes!

I feel so bad for him. He's only 2 years old. I've read up on CAE and it sounds like it.. they say it tends to show symptoms around this age.

Just wondering if any of you have had any experience with this type of problem and if so, what are some things I could do to help him...??

I would have a blood test done to check for CAE, CL and Johnes. Then you would know for sure. I would also find a vet and talk to him about what supportive therapies can be done if he does come back positive for CAE.

Has he been wormed? If he hasn't been wormed recently, then I would have a fecal test done including coccidia and see if he has any parasites.

Probably wouldn't but always good to rule out. The biggest thing is getting him tested for the diseases.
